United States: the cold weather in January - Map : Accuweather
New York, USA, 22/12/11
While the Christmas holiday season promises to be cold but dry, usually without snow in the northeast United States and Canada, we maintain our forecast of cold waves and snow storms in January and February 2012.
In conjunction with the La Nina phenomenon in the Pacific, whose effects are less marked than in 2010, the accumulated masses of cold air over Canada will défeler the northeastern United States between Christmas and New Year . But the prospects for cold waves are particularly marked for the month of January, with snow likely marked (blizzards) between regions of the Great Lakes and Quebec.
Below: our aggregate curve temperatures for New York, who dives throughout the first half of January.
